The Waiting is Finally Over!
Our theme for this year's Haunted Fairgrounds will be "Horror High" (as in high school). We'll have a float in the Whaling Days Parade in July and a booth at the Kitisap County Fair in August. The dates this year will be October 16-17, October 23-24, October 30 and Halloween night. For families and the squeamish, lights will be on from 5-6 pm but the fun will really begin when we turn the lights off from 6-11pm.
We've had several get togethers to decide on the number of rooms in the Sheep Barn (10 or 11), how the Van Zee building will be decorated and it appears we'll be able to use the Cat Barn (adjacent to the Sheep Barn) this year for our event.
We'll be attending two or three separate haunt conventions this year. The first one in St. Louis the end of March, the second somewhere in Minnesota or Wisconsin in April and a third I don't know where or when. We'll be buying costumes and some smaller items and consumables, attending training sessions for make-up and finally several haunted houses so we can get some new ideas.
Between now and the conventions we'll begin sketching the layout and figure what we'll need, especially if we need to purchase something we can't build. Give me a call if you're interested in participating this year. We need folks to construct, paint, decorate and most important, participate as actors/actresses in the rooms.

This is a video of a mirror maze that confused most of us who entered because there was only one way out...the way you came in.
We stayed at the Renaissance Mariott Hotel about a 10 - 15 minute walk from Gateway Park where the arch is located on the Mississippi River.
This is a video link to the corpse grinder. The video speaks for itself.
This video was taken on the Mississippi River adjacent to the Gateway Arch Park. No trip to St. Louis is complete unless you see a paddlewheel steamboat.
This is a video of the dark zone contains many of the larger animatronics equipment as well as those items which have the best effect in a low-light environment.
